Bourne again, clown cars, and awesome bars.
Greetings all,
F. Alex "Freddy Freedom" Johnson here with an update on things in the
land of the Stunt.
1. Bourne '08 recap.
2. John Mullins saves the day.
3. Stuntmen at Rt. 63 Roadhouse tonight (Sat 7/19).
Thanks for everybody coming out to the Drunk Stuntmen/Bourne Scenic Park's 10th anniversary show last weekend. It was a huge success once again. Judy "birthday girl" Sanderson easily won the "Best Taco Salad" contest for the 10th straight year (next year there are plans to include a best "virgin" Jell-O shot category).
The Uncle Jimmy Band was a wonderful thing to both behold, as well as to participate in. For those who weren't there, Uncle Jimmy is Scott Hall's uncle. He is also a phenomenal singer, guitarist, and tie-dye enthusiast. The band at on point featured Scott, Seth, Roger, Jimmy, and 7year old Billy Hall (Jimmy's son, making his first stage debut on
guitar). Others in the band included Steve, Dave, and myself (on pedal steel)from the Stuntmen, as well as Stephen D. (Scud Mt. Boys, Ray Mason Band, et al). The tunes were an array of seventies AM classics, from "Peaceful Easy Feeling" to "Old 55" and even "Back Home Again" which brought down the house with a sing-a-long that would have made ol' Henry John "Denver" Deutschendorf Jr. proud.
Soft-rock indeed.
The Stuntmen's set was a fun two plus hours of musical mayhem as usual.
Big smiles and appreciation go to all who attended, to some new recruits, and to some unassuming campers who never could have planned on having that much fun.
I think I can speak on behalf of the band when I say that those who couldn't be there (both two-legged and four) were dearly missed. That said, doing this show will always be a wonderful way for us to remember our history and celebrate life, and love, friends and family. This is why we do what we do.
Thanks again, everybody.
And while I'm at it, a big Drunk Stuntmen thank you goes to our SECAC rep. Mr. John Mullins. It seems that our van gives us a bit too much room on these long, hot, trips to the South. And when The Stunt Van broke down (and was towed to the gig in Nashville), who was there waiting for
us but our guy, John. John gladly opened up his wallet(thanks for lunch) and his air conditioned sedan, allowing all five of us to pile in Ringling Bros. style. He subsequently carted us to and from our hotel,
as well as brought Steve to Firestone and back to arrange the remedy to our van. My floppy shoes may never recover.
SECAC is the second oldest performance rights agency in the U.S. You can learn all about them at http://www.sesac.com. And you can read all about the tour at

Just scroll down a few entries and let the fun begin.
Lastly, Drunk Stuntmen are encouraging anyone and everyone to come out tonight, Saturday July, 19, to the Rt. 63 Roadhouse in Millers Falls,MA to see a full night of music by your favorite band, Drunk Stuntmen.
The show starts promptly at 9:30 and we'll play until they tell us to stop (roughly until 1 or so).

We'll keep up on our end.
As always, Do Your Own Stunts.
